Saber Blog Update (9/4/21)

Alas! Yonder in the distance! It be this weeks Saber Blog Update!

Oh boy, I am posting this a little later than I would have liked. A lot has happened in my personal life since my last blog update. I’m trying rework my schedule for comics, art and animation. Updates may be subject to change in the very near future. I recently left my job of four years for various reasons and am currently back on the job hunt. As of now, I have no idea how it will effect the update schedule moving forward. So bare with me, things might change soon.

Some people might be surprised to know that there even is an update schedule. I do apologize, I haven’t really been clear on that. As of right now, it’s a new Denatured page posting every other Monday, while Comic-Comic strips post every other Wednesday opposite from the Denatured post weeks. Also, New Walk With Me pages post to Patreon and Subscribestar every other Friday. While the previous months WWM post to the public every other Sunday. I know it’s a lot to try and remember, but It’s what has worked best and has allowed me to manage three comics in a somewhat orderly manner. The easiest way to never miss an update is to just sign up for the email newsletter which you can find in the popup or at the bottom of the about page. That way you will receive a weekly email with any news, comic, or blog updates. You can also follow me on Social Media.

Anyways, I do have a few art pieces to share this week. So let’s get to it, shall we?

Who remembers the Nickelodeon TV show My Life As A Teenage Robot? Well I sure do. One of the most under appreciated shows of its era. It was revolutionary in a lot of ways and today still holds a strong fan following. (Including yours truly) Well, I went ahead a drew an image of the protagonist Jenny (XJ9) Wakeman. Some might say that a show about a teenage robot is a strange concept. Those who would say that have clearly have never heard about a certain teenage, transformed, gender bent, wolf girl, cheerleader, superhero. I mean, compared to that, I think this show was pretty normal.

…What?

So the next image was drawn to be a new profile pic for this sites home page. I’ve started experimenting with some new things including a new background. I want more of a traditional hand drawn feel. I also think I’ve finally found that perfect balance for the color space in Light’s tail. By the way, I will also be updating the other front page images as I have time.

The final image is the result of an internet fascination that exploded recently. The entire web went a little crazy drawing female Tails from Sonic The Hedgehog. So of course I had to join in on the fun. A good friend, Cryos-R decided to take my image and run with it. They wrote an interesting story that was inspired by my drawing and a tiny bit of dialogue I wrote to go with it. It’s a good read, if you happen to be a fan of fan fiction. So I encourage you to check it out.

Speaking of fan art. Check out this amazing image done by the ever awesome Tincrash, showcasing Faye Fletcher in another one of “those” situations.

Poor Flynn, he’s got a lot of therapy ahead him. How will he ever cope with the insanity of his new life? Maybe he should just find a hobby?

Thanks again to Tincrash and Cryos-R, I love and appreciate your awesome new contributions. Keep up the good work and I will post this image on the fanart gallery of this site.

But wait, there’s more!

It’s not much, but I did manage to crank out a basic animation test a month ago when I had some free time. This is what happens when you shake a bag of sabertooth collie snacks. Very short attention span. They often forget what they were mad about.

Now before you judge me on the quality. Just know that It’s only a test, I’m learning some new software, and it was done more as a fun experiment. Hoping to do more as I have the available time.

Well that’s all for now folks. I hope you and those around you remember to venture where no man nor beast have gone before, seek out new ideas and creative endeavors and cast off the vail of safety putting on the armor of blind faith. Until next time.

Woof!
