Joined Tapas and Webtoons...BUT!

This is my second time writing this, because my first draft was accidentally deleted. It’s been a while since I last posted a blog update, but I thought I should inform you of a few things.

After many years of fighting it, I finally decided to bite the bullet and made an account for both Webtoons and Tapas. While personally I've never been the biggest fan of centralizing webcomics onto these platforms that dictate and control everything you do, I figured it was time to push my content out into the more visible public square. So if you do use either site, give me a follow. I've uploaded all three of my comics. (…Almost.) Keep reading.

However. I will always prefer and encourage you to stay connected via my website and newsletter.  Just because I use social media to reach out, doesn't mean that it will always be there. Websites and platforms come and go. So please stay connected to me via Saber Collie Studios, even if you follow me on social media or other platforms.

(SO MUCH FOR THAT)

As I was writing this, I received a notification from Webtoons informing me that they removed one of my Comic-Comic strips and pretty much all of Denatured for supposedly "violating their terms and conditions." Remember, you can follow me on these platforms, but it'll always be better to stay connected via my site.
So, there is no Denatured on Webtoons, but it is still up on Tapas. …Their loss.

According to them these comics were removed for…Check’s Card…”Nudity.”
Which if you’ve ever read my comics, you’ll know is complete BS.

I find this extremely hypocritical, given that Webtoons has a history of promoting and pushing comics of various problematic themes. But apparently their stance on nudity is so extreme that even gag strips where the joke is literally censorship aren’t safe.

Case and point, the Comic-Comic they removed.

Conclusion.

If you use Tapas or Webtoons. Still give me a follow, it does help. BUT…also stay connected via my site and newsletter. As well as other forms of Social Media. This kind of censorship is the exact reason I’ve avoided these types of platforms until now.

It’s a shame really. That the majority of webcomic readers now exclusively use these platforms that take advantage of comic creators while censoring and controlling them.

Aside from comic sites. Currently, It’s incredibly difficult to build any kind of following on any kind of platform. I don’t talk about this enough, but I could really use your help. Maybe people get the idea that I’m some kind of big online presence, but the truth is, I’m not. I’m not even close. Algorithms and shadow banning keep me in the dark and it’s extremely frustrating and discouraging.

If you like my kind of content, please consider helping it grow by subscribing, liking and reposting whatever you can. It really does go a long way.

Here’s a link to my links page that list almost everywhere you can find me online, aside from a few.

Anyways, that’s all I have to say for now. Thanks for reading.

Also, I updated the promotional posters for all of the comics. Something that’s needed to happen for a long time. Let me know what you think.
